I am a native San Antonian and a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio Independent School District. In 1996, I had the privileged of graduating from Howard University (HBCU), where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television, and Film Production from the School of Communications. I received a Secondary Teaching Certification in Speech from St. Mary's University in 2000. In 2007, I received my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Pictured above - The HBCU Experience - Summer 2013, Tuskegee University (HBCU).
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of servicing a diverse and underrepresented student population in both charter and public school districts in the San Antonio area. Many of my talents and skills easily extend to secondary administration, teaching, college advising and career guidance counseling. Pictured above - IMBRACE Education Alumni, Isaiah, Allan, and Clarence we visited during The HBCU Experience - Fiesta 2018, Prairie View A&M University (HBCU).
My expertise in and knowledge of the college admissions process led me to start my own education support services grassroots organization, IMBRACE Education. Our 501c3 nonprofit organization (TID 47-2660361) provides consulting for middle school, high school and college students/parents regarding the college admissions process; scholarship information; hosts college fairs and tours of college and university campuses, with a focus on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
I understand that each student's situation and needs are unique to them. Tell me more about what you're looking for, and I will get back to you soon with some ideas.
